Rural population is shifting on a rapid basis. In fact, a quarter of the people living in Rural America make their homes in counties where the majority population is made up of racial/ethnic minorities. It's a great study, we had the story and here are the details.
The Urbandale Hy-Vee is asking the Urbandale Planning and Zoning Commission to kick out several private business at their 86th and Hickman store so they can increase the size by 19,000 square feet. It's a bad plan and we think the Planning and Zoning Commission should nip this one in the bud when they meet on Monday.
