Metro Monday - Several weeks ago we decided to focus on the local each Monday. While our shows are global in scope, dealing with advertising, marketing and consumer trends...we've decided to take the top of the week for local top stories. Our scheduled guest Todd Razor from the Des Moines Business Record had to cancel at the last moment. We were going to talk "Hyper-Local" and the consumer trends that is bringing along. We'll have to save that for a later date.
Stepping up and in is Michael Lynch the president of Manpower. I recently saw Mike at a "Net 2 Work" event and asked if he would ever be available for a show. He's got some interesting job stats and some insight into the regional market that should be of some help for business and those seeking to be employed by business. We know that you'll make Mike welcome with his Insight on Business. Mike, thank you again for coming on with such short notice! Very cool...and we're honored!
In other news - A shout out to our new friends at Mingle360 who is working with our other friends at the Urbandale Chamber. I had a customer service issue and their VP of Marketing Bradley Blinn made it a point to fix it...great service. And, thank you Urbandale Chamber for such a warm welcome and response to my presentation last week on "No Bull Marketing - 2010". It was fun...let's do it again.
A sidebar: Customer service is an important part of the sale. Yesterday I wrote about a mind-bending experience with Pitney-Bowes. We'll share that story today and their reaction to what they think the issue is...and what we know to be the problem. The thing is...this story is far too common and it's driving consumers crazy...and now that the consumer is king. We'll tell you a bit later.
We'll also visit a bit about Sunday Morning Coffee a business/personal wrap up of events and news that we posted yesterday. OK then!
