I'm a "Traveling Man" today having spent the Memorial Day Weekend with my Mom in Northern Michigan. So, this is going to be very short. It's a 13 hour journey. Looking forward to getting back to the office. A couple of brief observations and more tomorrow:
You Can Tell WHO Wants to Do Business
Indian River, Michigan is a tourist town. An unincorporated community of 2,000 just 30 miles south of "The Bridge". When the economy is poor the people here feel it. And, the economy here has been horrible. But, things are easing up. I spoke to a real estate agent (we all know they are always positive) Linda Jakeway who tells me folks are starting to look at homes again. The stores I stopped in were busy and most of the folks here are seriously happy to see you walk in the door.
It's the attitude that gets me. You can tell who wants to do business, who has been trained to work well with consumers and those who would rather be elsewhere. I think the bottom line here is IF you are eager to serve the needs of the consumer and if you go out of your way to work...WORK...with them. You win and the customer will tell others.
I know this is simple...too simple. But are you doing this at your business?
Check you later?
