Some Thoughts on Video Production
We're engaged in a major project for a client in Kentucky. The project will never be seen on television but we're treating the project like it will be a feature during the Super Bowl. That pushed me to think about local TV production and the mistake so many local business owners make...letting the local TV station write, shoot and edit the video. Some thoughts on creating quality:
And...then there is this: With 51% of consumers watching video on-line what happens if you only show your commercial on TV and then only on one station? Good production doesn't cost...it pays.
Whoa...So THAT'S What Copyright Means!
It's no secret, we loved the Super Bowl ad from Chrysler featuring Eminem. Seems that Audi liked it so much they used the same song in a video promoting A6 Avant in Europe. The result? Eminem publisher sued. Audi settled, out of court, and the winner is...Detroit. Audi will make charitable donations to efforts in the Motor City. Here is the full story from our friends at Ad Age Mediaworks. This story is about the big guys...but it's wise to remember copyright laws in your marketing too.

But...just because we never click on a "Promoted Tweet" doesn't mean others don't. We also think the costs, for most businesses, is way out of reach. And, there are many other inventive ways to use Twitter outside of the "Promoted Tweet" world. Here's a neat article from Ad Age Digital about four campaigns and what they got for their money.
