We're now into our fourth year of doing the Business News Hour. Each weekday our crew spends hours writing the business news, delivering it, lining up guests and conducting those long-form business interviews and then creating social media content to help our business guests extend their interview long after they have left the broadcast studio.
Some of our guests "get it" and use their interview on a host of their own social media
channels. We can always tell because we watch their download numbers climb. (We watch that sort of stuff on iTunes, Podbean, Bitly, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram...it's what we do.) However some folks don't re-tweet or share or use the links we give them to extend their reach. So how about some social media tips to make sure you extend your reach. Here is what we share with our guests:
"Thank you for being part of the only daily, hour-long business news broadcast in the Midwest. According to Neilson 10k – 15k people heard you. If you were to have purchased the time on the radio it would have cost more than $500. Because the information you shared was valuable we would like to help you get the most out of your business interview and extend your experience."
Attached you’ll find the interview (in podcast form) and any photos we took during your visit. We encourage you to extend the value of your business interview by:
- Sharing the photos and the podcast on your Business or Personal Facebook Page;
- If you are on Twitter follow @IoB_NewsHour and re-tweet what we say about your interview;
- Post the photos and interview on your website;
- If you are on LinkedIn you can include your interview as an update;
- If you do an email newsletter you can post your interview links and photos.
We have already shared your interview and photos across several social media channels: Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and will continue to do so for several more days.
Take some time and extend your voice and your reach by sharing this broadcast with your customers, friends and family.
At Insight on Business we’re all about…business!
