This past week we had a news story that said, so far this year, 49 hospitals in the United States have closed their doors mostly because of poor funding, inability to find workers and public policy that tends to put patients last in health care. Contrary to popular belief the Affordable Care Act was a boost to health care and to hospitals. To dig into this we invited the Iowa Hospital Association to weigh in on the health care debate. Here Scott McIntyre the Vice President of Communications for the association talks about rural health care delivery, affordability and the danger both the House and Senate versions of health care insurance options have on our hospitals, clinics and patients.
