Thanks for your article on horse slaughter. Sadly, the American Veterinary Medical Association has long been supportive of most animal cruelty issues. Their opposition to ending horse slaughter is no different. They never make claims bassed on fact, but instead try to scare people.

Chris, thanks for your note and your point of view. I did read the statement. Can you tell me your response to the suggestion that 100,000 unwanted horses may face a more severe fate if the US stops the slaughter and the horses are then transported to Mexico? Or does the proposed legislation prohibit the transport over the border? Thanks again..MPL
