In other stories:
When "forever" isn't? The U.S. Postal Service, yesterday, made known their intent to raise postage, again, this time by two-cents for First Class Mail. Higher for other mailings. The Direct Marketing Associationis working hard to get the request denied. And, is it against the law? We'll tell you about it. And here is the story. And another question...why release this on a holiday? Maybe hoping it wouldn't get coverage?
When was the last time you raised your rates or prices? It's a solid question and we'll talk about it a bit more today. If you have...by how much over the past five years if not...why?
A word or two about PRODUCT PHOTO SHOOTS - what the consumer doesn't know or understand...much less a client. And, why professional photographers are struggling.
Passports? Get ready....the cost of those are going up...too.
What do YOU think drives innovation? Seriously. You might be surprised to learn that some consider "fascination" to be the driver over "competition". That is the message from Mitch Ditkoff from the Heart of Innovation. Want to "spark" some innovation in your business? Mitch has these five suggestions:
- On a piece of paper write three parallel headlines: "What Fascinates Me", "People I Admire" and "What Would I Do if I Knew I Couldn't Fail.
- Jot down five responses to each "headline".
- Look for intriguing, new connections between your responses. Any insights? Any Ahas?
- Jot down your New Ideas.
- Circle your favorite idea and then brainstorm with a friend. Then pitch your ideas to anyone who can help you make your idea...real.
See, we always say...we spend too much time "doing" rather than "thinking".
