- Foodie Stuff is HOT! Selling unique food items or how to create different dishes? Folks are eating this stuff up. Food Network Magazine revenues up by 174%
- Do It Yourself - Sharing with people "how" to do things continues to be a cool consumer trend. You there?
- The love for cars is back - The Automotive Industry accounted for 21% of the increase in magazine ad revenue in 2010. Making up for lost time.
- People are interested in People - Last year People Magazine pulled in $1 billion in revenue. A record...
A couple of "take-aways" - While newspapers continue to suffer magazines build. Why? Niche areas that are marketing silos for specific lifestyles and the products that match them. Investigate...where your demographic is going and what they are reading and check those costs per thousand. It's worth the effort.
Going GREEN on CBS - According to reports in the Media Daily News and others CBS will begin putting a "green-leaf insignia" on TV ads that have products or services that promote environmentally friendly projects. Among the names with the new leaf: Chevy, Safeway and O Organics. Look for local outlets to follow. It's a niche and a consumer trend that is rolling along at break-neck speed.
