Video work...takes time. If your business is using video to promote the serious to the silly you are on the right course. Did you know there are as many minutes spent watching video on everything from cell phones to televisions as there are folks watching broadcast TV? And it's only going to get...bigger.
Last week we were involved in a number of video projects. These examples were shot with my trusty (but no longer made) FLIP. It's an easy way to record and edit quick out-takes while the expensive cameras roll.
In the first we'll show you the set up for a "60 Minutes" style interview we did with Robb Spearman of RE/MAX Real Estate Concepts. Note what Adam says about the project. The second half of this cut is me doing a couple of thirty-second "stand-up" ads for RE/MAX. It shows just a fraction of the time it takes to nail the script. (Grumble....)
In this second video we're at the Iowa Power Farming Show with our client Calcium Products, Inc. There were some huge crowds...later in the day. This piece we shot just for fun...because we had "talent" in the booth.
The whole point, and your take-a-way from this, is you've got to spend some time and money creating video for your business. Remember, it doesn't always have to be serious stuff...have some fun. Folks watch.
A Video Thank You...
For the past four years we've worked with Windstar Lines based in Carroll, Iowa. They have provided transportation at the Iowa Power Farming Show shuttling producers back and forth from Principal Park to the Iowa Events Center. Our client, Calcium Products, Inc. sponsors the bus trip...complete with "flight attendants" and a video (there is that word again). Anyway we wanted to make public what we thought about the company, their employees and what they do for their customers. Nice. Oh, and we understand they placed this video on their website. Thanks!
