We broadcast the business news of the day Monday - Friday starting at 5PM on 1350-KRNT, Des Moines. Along with the news, stocks and commodity numbers we invite business leaders, start-ups and entrepreneurs into our studio to talk...business. This week on The News Hour:
Monday - The president of the Greater Des Moines Partnership, Gene Meyer came in to talk about the advances the Metro has seen in 2013 and peek into the future courtesy of The Capital Crossroads Project. You can listen to our conversation here:
Tuesday - It's New Year's Eve and we've got a "Best of The News Hour" featuring Howard Bernstein who runs the Wine & Spirits Gallery in Windsor Heights. We talk about the challenges of being a small store in the shadows of the large supermarket chains and what he brings to his customers...others can't. Then Chris Stanek comes in to talk about hiring and retaining high quality employees. His methods may surprise you. We wrap up New Year's Eve with Andrea Hansen and Jerod Mullenhaur and their start-up VenueFox. It seemed like a good day to launch something cool.
Wednesday - New Year's Day and we make welcome a new contributor to The News Hour. Desmund Adams has an amazing story and it's something to be shared with the world. Your Steps to Success: Business Leadership will become a regular feature on the News Hour. We believe you'll like. In addition to Desmund we'll have return visits with Thomas Ahart who was, in September, the brand new Superintendent of Schools for Des Moines. Also returning is Ryan Kolder from On the Spot and our good friend Mike Pace has some nice things to say. That's all on New Year's Day.
Thursday - It's an amazing story of giving. We welcome back our friend Jonnie Wright who powered through a cool interview last fall. This time he comes back with a story about going "underground" to do...good. Heart warming stuff to kick off 2014.
Friday - More news and interviews from the only local, live (usually...), hour-long business broadcast in the region.
