It is good to be back with you.  It's been quite the week here.  Early on Tuesday morning our studio and offices were flooded with close to an inch of water during a storm that dumped two-inches in under twenty minutes. That was followed by a storm that knocked out power for 23 hours. Combining the water damage clean up and clearing trees it was a full 23 hours...we were not bored. But, we're back and grateful! Reflections on DMDC2024

We spent a fast paced 55 hours on the ground in Washington, D.C. for the 45th Annual Des Moines to D.C. (DMDC) trip by the Greater Des Moines Partnership. This is where elected officials, community groups and business leaders used the time to not only network among themselves but also lobby our federal legislators about some key projects from airports to a new interstate to fixing roads and bridges. The reaction from those involved? We made history on Wednesday as more than 200 business leaders, elected officials and non-profit individuals traveled to Washington, D.C. for the 45th Annual Greater Des Moines Partnership D.C. Trip. Here you'll meet several of my fellow travelers as we chatted it up abord a Southwest Airlines Charter Flight. We had one question for our guests, "What do you expect to accomplish while here." The answers were varied.  Here you will meet Tiffany Tauscheck the President/CEO of the Partnership, Mike Jones the Mayor of Windsor Heights, Iowa, Rob Denson the President of Iowa Central Community College, Dr. Ian Roberts the Superintendent of the Des Moines Public Schools, Jackie Norris the principal at Horizons and Amanda Wanke the CEO of  the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority.
