4th Annual Sista Soul Fest with Loretta Windsor

Over the years we've had the opportunity to visit with so many entrepreneurs and at each meeting we've found their stories to be compelling.  That too was the case when I sat down with Loretta Windsor the founder of Sista Soul Fest now in its fourth year. This is so much more than a festival. There is a  powerful economic driver behind her vision for build economic wealth for women and especially women of color. A Special Needs No-Kill Animal Shelter

There are animal shelters and then there are special places such as Animal Lifeline of Iowa.  Celebrating nearly 40 years of serving the Des Moines area and all of Iowa. The organization rescues cats and dogs that are injured, handicapped, have a serious medical condition, are abused, pregnant, nursing moms or are orphans that require bottle feeding. Animal Lifeline of Iowa rehabilitates the animals in their care and help to adopt them into their loving, forever home.  Here Stacie Leinen talks about that and a special event happening on the 5th of August "Comedians to the Rescue".  Meet Stacie...

The Windsor Heights Book Fair with Tyler Granger

Sometimes, even though we have an international audience, we get to do some hyper-local things and that's what you're getting today.   Why? Because we think this is such a neat idea we hope that someone in another town, state or nation might pick up on the idea and do a local book fair where you live. Here you'll meet Tyler Granger from Windsor Heights, Iowa who has put together a book fair featuring Iowa writers ranging from history to news to romance to mystery to children's books.  He has done a masterful job in promoting the event as well. The event is on October 3rd starting at noon and HERE is a link to that Facebook Page. And to complete the conversation you'll also meet Julie Granger a former school teacher who has already penned several western romance novels with a twist.
