Immigration and Workforce with Attorney Lori Chesser

Over the past year we've reported a number of times about the severe workforce shortage even in the face of millions of open jobs. Recently we shared a story that the best way to fix this national crisis is to have more immigration rather than less. A couple of weeks ago we were in Washington, D.C. and sat down with a returning guest and immigration attorney, Lori Chesser from the Des Moines, Iowa office of Dentons Davis Brown to get her take on the issue. Meet Jude Rawlins a U.K. Filmmaker who moved to Rural Iowa and Why

This was one of those "out of the blue" connections that we really love. Several weeks ago I was contacted by a former guest of the News Hour, Nancy Vetter, who told me about a man who had moved from the United Kingdom to Marshalltown, Iowa and was making some really good independent films. We followed up with Rebecca Haroldson, an Iowan and cast member who took it from there and we met for coffee and this conversation about his music career in London and what he is doing now. . Jude Rawlins has created a number of films with more coming out soon and he uses all Iowa talent and tells us...why. Here we touch on his music career, films, his creative ideas and, of course, the business side of making independent movies.
