It's called "Out to Lunch" where we take a thought leader to lunch, talk business and YOU get to listen in. This week we're "Out to Lunch" with Mayor Frank Cownie of Des Moines, Iowa at one of our favorite places, Jesses Embers. Mr. Cownie has been mayor of the largest city in Iowa for 16 years and says he is not done yet.
Let me set this up for you. Before we start lunch we do "Quick Bites" that's where our guest answers three questions and they are always the same: "What book have you read that has made an impact and how?", "What movie have you seen that has made an impact on you and how?" finally, "If you were not doing your current job, what would you like to do?" Here is "Quick Bites" with Mayor Frank Cownie.
Then we sit down to talk business. Here Mayor Cownie and I talk about new projects, people who live in the city, the many public/private partnerships, transportation changes, the environment, a surging economic base, the lowest unemployment rate of any Midwestern city. All good stuff but, Mayor Cownie says there are still things that need to be done. Join us as we go "Out to Lunch" with the mayor at Jesses Embers on Ingersoll here in Des Moines.
Thanks for listening!
