I was up this morning at 5:30 attempting to catch up from a couple of days of Family Time. Yep, it was dark out. This is going to be really, really quick this morning...catch up remember?
It was so great to see so many people at the surprise birthday party for our own D.J. Hassel. She is such an outstanding volunteer for so many campaigns. Driving candidates, writing postcards, making calls, doing voter registration. Yesterday several dozen folks gathered to wish her a happy 80th birthday. She is amazing. Here she is with Chef Peterson who created an wonderful cake that I failed snap in a photo. Happy Birthday D.J. and all the best! I was honored to have been asked to say a few words during the event AND was over the moon with the great music of Jodi Sussman Stanfield doing a cover of Imagine. What a fantastic voice. Yep, also failed to get that photo! Grumble....
Busy day tomorrow as I travel to Mason City to do a funeral there. Then rush back home to be sworn in as a new City Councilor.
Had a great weekend with family here. My Bride goes out of her way to make the holidays perfect and it truly was.
Have a great Sunday and sorry for the short piece...I'll do better next week.
